Will ditched school to watch Alex compete in the third and final Battle of the Books battle. We stopped at liberty market for a breakfast date on our way.

It was a very intense battle! Alex's team was up against the Shoulder Angels who were also defending a perfect score. At one point, Alex was asked a question where the teacher asked for a better answer, and he gave her the answer again. While she was deciding to accept it (she started shaking her head) Alex said challenge! No one had ever challenged the teachers before, although it states in the rules you are free to do it. Once you challenge you gave only 3 minutes to find the correct answer and show the panel. Alex marched right over to the panel of judges, picked up the book and opened to the page that showed he was correct. It took him about 10 seconds! So incredible. The crowd urrupted in cheers, it was a great moment! We were so proud of Alex!
For the first time in Neely history, they had to go into a sudden death round. After five or six questions, the shoulder Angels answered one incorrectly. The Tacos were the winners! Will was so excited he ran up and gave a,ex a huge hug! We were so proud!
To celebrate that night nana and papa came over for tacos.
Jake prefers to start each day with a big plate of pancakes. We make them 4-5 mornings a week. And on the other days he eats the leftover! He always make sure to ask for butter and "sybub."
