Whew...it's been a while!

Blogging has fallen to the bottom of the "to-do" list. I'm really sad about it and hope to do better in the new year. This is the only record I keep of our family's happenings and I want it ALL recorded. If I could freeze time right now, I would! So, here's what we've been up to (at least what I can remember because I snapped a picture!):
Wow, we are aging quickly. The boys are growing to fast and it makes me cry when I think about it. How sad, but so fun.
These pictures were done about 2 weeks after our own family photos....let's just say the boys had had it with smiling for the camera!

Christmas Dinner mutual with my Laurels at our house- They are the cutest girls! I love them so much!

The 2009 Thankful Tree

Has there ever been a cuter Indian? Not possible.

Will did soccer this fall, and had a love/hate relationship with the sport. His coach bribed him with legos- it worked! At the end of the season coach had to pay up! He brought Will a Star Wars lego set. I'm not at all sure how I feel about that coming from a coach or what kind of precedence that will set in my Will's mind...either way it got him to chase the ball!
My boys did not plan this little pj outfit arrangment but I about died laughing when I say them hanging with their dad dressed like this.
Halloween- Boy-in-a-Box and Batman
Pumpkin carving with friends and trying to get a pictures of the kids=disaster.

The dad chillin' while the mom's try to get the photo!!

Lately Will's favorite thing to say is: "What the heck in the world!" It's quite hilarious to hear him say it in his passionate little voice. That's all for now.

Quick Trip

We took a last minute trip up to Salt Lake City this weekend to attend the funeral of Alan's Aunt, Jane Brienholt. She was a wonderful woman who fought leukemia for the last year. It was a sad event, she was so loved by her family. Alan's 98 year-old grandmother flew in from Palm Springs. She has buried 2 husbands, 2 sons, and now a daughter. She is the picture of grace.

It just so happened that my parents were in town, so we stayed with them in Park City and caught as much conference as we could. It was a busy weekend and we didn't get to spend as much time with them as we would have liked.
We also ran down to American Fork to meet our newest neice, Sage Juliet Curtis, who is only 10 days-old. She is darling and we were tempted to bring her home with us....

Alan at his Grandparents grave.

We were kid free for 3 days and 2 nights which was so so so nice. The boys were busy here having their own adventures with Shanda, my sis-in-laws sister, who moved in for the weekend and took such great care of our boys. We owe you Shanda!

Catch-up Time

I've let this blog go....and I'm so mad at myself! So much has gone on, so many little moments have passed without being recorded. But I'm ready to get caught up--life is busy and full and won't be less than that anytime soon so that excuse won't work. Tomorrow is the day. I'm ready.

First Day of School 2009

How fast it goes by. Can't believe my little boy is in 1st grade! He was thrilled to go. Can you see the excitement? He loves school but comes home exhausted. Yes, I cried when I dropped him off and yes, I missed his little face all day long.As a side note, please notice the extremely large child standing in front of my little boy. Yep, he's in Alex's FIRST GRADE class. That child is far too old for first grade. Look at the size of his arm!!! Guaranteed his parents held him back so that he would be the biggest kid and be able to play sports (they do that all the time in AZ.) I do not believe in doing that- in fact, I think it is MESSED UP. It bugs me, can you tell?

The Reunion at the end of day one!

On to boy #2. I left him hysterical in the arms of his preschool teacher today. He was screaming, "Mama, mama, mama...!". His voice is ringing in my ears. What am I going to do with my baby? I absolutely adore him. At least he let me take his photo before he lost it.

How I'm spending my morning

Learing how to conduct music in 6/8 for a funeral being held today. Can I just mention that I do NOT know how to conduct music? How do I get myself in these situations....

Camp Pendleton MudRun

BEFORE & AFTERYear Three! It was great though every single person who signed up with us ended up flaking out. It was just Alan and I this year and I was less prepared than before but we made it and had a great time doing it. Whose in for next year?

Summer Nights

This is what they are all about: staying up past our 7 pm bedtime, getting dirty, spending time with our friends, swimming, eating popsicles, going home exhausted and sleeping IN!

Girls Camp '09

I haven't been since I was 16....and let's just say that the girls here in AZ ROUGH-IT compared to camp in Connecticut, but it was a blast and I came away a better person. Loved it! (above picture: Jennie Oxspring, Cari Mickelson, Karin Burton, Shannon Rosenhan, Melinda Brower, Jennifer Whidden, Me, Liane Carmichael: the amazing women that I get to work with in Young Women's!)

The Boy Turns Six!

(These pictures are all backwards but I can't figure out how to fix it.) Alex's birthday was great! We started out the day at Krispy Kreme, Alex's favorite. He ate 4 donuts in a matter of minutes and without stopping to chat. He and I had a great little lunch date too, where he enlightened me on all things Backugan and Pokemon. We spend the rest of that day and the next at a local resort with a huge waterpark where we spent the night and did cake and presents etc. with some of our good friends, the Bates. We did this instead of a big birthday party- which I thought was perfect: more family time and less chaos! Alex is wise beyond his years....such a joy to have around, we love that kid. I can't believe it's already been six years!
