Kauai

Tunnels beach - great snorkeling and sunset, favorite beach

Queen Emma's Bath - hike down to pool in lava rocks; gorgeous views; no beach; wear water shoes

Anini Beach - ok snorkeling, less crowded than others

Kee Beach - by Kalalau trailhead

Kalalau Trail - 2 mile hike to beach (but don't swim in ocean); if pack lunch, go extra 2 miles up dry riverbed to waterfall

Wailua Kayak & Canoe - Kayak up Wailua river to hike to waterfalls, Fern Grotto, and swimming hole with cliff jumping. Pack lunch. Wear good shoes - no flip flops. Sunscreen. $85 for 2 person kayak. They give you a dry bag and a small cooler.

GOLF - Kauai Challenge (any 3 courses for $450)
Princeville Prince - lose lots of balls
Princeville Makai - Overall best; best combo of beauty, ease of play, well maintained grounds
Poipu Bay - Easiest to play

Helicopter Tour - Jack Harter; with windows; take nondrowsy Dramamine; best way to see the whole island; $240 per person

Kauai Sporting Clays - shotguns; $89 per person; great instruction

Wailua Falls - can drive to lookout

RESTAURANTS:
Java Kai - great breakfast, but don't order eggs; pastries

Ono's - skip for breakfast, ok shave ice (ice cream in middle instead of on bottom)

Hee Fat General Store - Lava Flow shave ice; best shave ice

Bar Acuda - yummy tapas, 2+ tapas per person, pricy, good setting

Pink's - Kona Mud Pie ice cream, our favorite ice cream place

Lappert's - not as good as Pink's

Bubba's Burger - average

Mediterranean Gourmet - great food (Gyros), dated interior, poor service, great ocean views (right on water)

Hukilau Lanai - great seafood, somewhat pricy, on water, worth the price, order "Mixed Grill", skip the Lobster Bisque

Shave Ice Paradise - best shave ice texture, most expensive, smallest serving

Fish Express - don't eat here, unless you are getting the poke; great for buying fresh fish to take home and grill

Gaylord's - yummy food, great atmosphere, excellent service; make reservation after 6:30 in order to enjoy the live music

Kalapaki Beach Hut - by the airport; really good burgers and amazing taro fries; serve lunch all day (which was awesome bc we arrived on the islandat 9:30am and were starving for something other than breakfast)
