The four of us had a great time at the Arizona State Fair today! Alex was taken out kicking and screaming while Will was so exhausted he fell asleep before we even left. There may be some of the best people watching in the world at state fairs.
This is the mean ostrich who bit Alex's finger and sent us to the First Aid booth.
Stay away from him!
Stay away from him!
The boys at the petting zoo. One creature (Will) wants in,
another creature (the goat, at least I think that's a goat) wants out!

Looks like fun... but I am afraid of that scary looking ostrich that bit Alex's finger! OH my.. is he ok? I loved the pic of Alex milking a cow!
I love the ostrich story. My college roommate from Norway was bit by an ostrich at Thanksgiving Point in Utah and she kept telling us a big chicken had bit her. Those guys are mean!
What a cultural experience those fairs are! I thought they only had deep fried snickers and twinkies here in the south! Glad to see they are popular out west too! Great photos!
Looks like fun! How is it compared to the Texas Fair? Well, we miss you!
This brings back fond memories of when I was lucky enough to go with you guys and Jen and Savannah to the Texas State Fair. I have a great mental image of Alex LOVING the John Deere display. He thought he had died and gone to heaven when he got to sit in a tractor. I also laugh when I think about that old guy who gave us directions to turn right on Bob Cullum--meaning Robert Cullum Blvd. Thanks for the fun time. Can't believe it's been over a year since then!
Alas, Dallas has nothing on Arizona. You've got the same deep fried snickers, petting zoo, and even the phsycho ostrich.
You are living large lady!
