Camping '09

Camping Schedule:
Leave house Friday night at 7:10pm. Sun is setting.
Arrive campsite about 8pm.
Start fire, eat smores, set up tent, go to bed by 10pm.
Wake up, pack up, stop at DD's on the way home. Home by 9am.
Boys were thrilled- camping to them is smores and sleeping in a tent. Mission accomplished.

We've accomplished that mission in our backyard (not to mention our front room when dad was off with the scouts and it was raining...we win (: )!

Mark and I have been talking lately that we really should go camping sometime with the kids (our last/only time camping was with the UCLA ward---loved those camp outs!) That sounds like a great way to get started! I agree that smores are the best part of camping!

I know some may disagress but for me that is the only way to camp (don't tell Troy he would die if he knew I spoke such blaspheme, packing in for 10 miles with all supplies on your back is his crazed idea of camping).

Brooke says that's barely enough time to get dirty -- just her style of camping! :) I took both boys a couple of weeks ago -- it was quite a trip with a 17 mo old and a 3 yr old. But at least mama got a break -- for 2 days and 2 nights!
